Scoutmaster Mickey recognized by District Award of Merit committee

district_award_of_meritScoutmaster Mickey Lang found out on 11/04 that he had been recognized for his years of hard work and dedication to the Troop, District, and Council with the “District Award of Merit”.  A recognition banquet will be held by the Crossroads District on Feb 23 at the Lakeside Country Club to honor Mickey and other award recipients. Congratulations to Scoutmaster Mickey and thank you for everything that you’ve been doing for us!

Requirements for this award include the following:
1. A nominee must be a registered Scouter.
2. A nominee must have rendered noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside Scouting, or both. Note: The nature and value of “noteworthy service to youth” may consist of a single plan or decisions that contributed vitally to the lives of large numbers of youth or it may have been given to a small group over an extended period of time.
3. Consideration must be given to the nominee’s Scouting position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of that Scouting position.
4. The nominee’s attitude toward and cooperation with the district and/or council is to be taken into consideration.

Court of Honor

The Court of Honor is scheduled for November 21, 2016 at 6PM in the Towanda Legion Hall.  This night is for all Scouts and family members to celebrate each other’s accomplishments over the past six months.

The troop will be providing Monicals pizza and salad for everyone.  Drinks, sides and desserts will be a potluck with each family signing up to bring something to share.

Please email melissaplassman@hotmail.com by Monday, November 7th with the number attending (including your scout) and what you are bringing to share (so we can make sure there are no overlaps).

Thanks!
